Description: Pulp mill operators consider the safety of mill personnel as their primary objective. They are also charged with ensuring that production processes are operating safely and with making sure unit and process systems are functioning properly. Pulp mill operators continually monitor mill instrumentation and equipment and make frequent modifications in order to keep system process variables operating within acceptable ranges. They are also responsible for detecting actual and potential problems and with taking all necessary corrective actions to avoid interruptions in all systems operations.

Our pulp mill operations training course is user-friendly program that does not require that you have extensive knowledge of the pulp mill industry, math, physics, or chemistry. All necessary science concepts are built into the various teaching modules.

Upon successful completion of this pulp mill training program, students have the competency to:
• Operate a pulp mill with safety as the prime consideration
• Monitor instrumentation and the operation of equipment
• Make adjustments to keep system process variables, such as flows, temperatures, and pressures, within acceptable ranges
• Detect potential and actual problems and take corrective action to prevent the interruption of system operations
• Analyze operational trends and take corrective actions
• Use standard operating procedures to start and stop production equipment
• Maintain communication with other operators, maintenance, and management

Instructor Description: Max Ansari MSEE, P. Eng., First Class Steam Engineer is the instructor for our biofuel education program. He has experience in the operation of large hydrocarbon facilities, such as refineries, and the development of training systems for a multitude of large corporations engaged in complex industrial production processes. Max also has many years of experience as a professor at a community college. He’s taught a multitude of programs in a number of energy fields.
