Motorcycle 101 - The Basic Rider Course

CourseGraphic In this basic course, you will learn how to operate a motorcycle, the best protective clothing to wear, how to avoid dangerous situations and what's most important, how to get out of those dangerous situations you can't avoid. You will learn to make your motorcycle perform like an extension of yourself. And, by the end of The Course, we'll be challenging your skills. This course is required for all first time class M applicants, including out of state transfers. Completion certificate (MSB-8) may waive on-road test at DPS if you are 16 yrs. old or older and have an unrestricted class A, B or C license. Completion certificate may offer discount on motorcycle insurance. Class instructors are Certified employees of the Texas Department of Public Safety and they will provide everything you will need to complete this course, including the motorcycles and training. As the class is all day, plan to bring water with you. You will break for lunch and you may either bring a bag lunch or leave for the allocated time.

Once you are registered you will receive a voucher code to take the required e-course. This course must be completed and hard copy of the certificate brought to the first day of class.
