New York City Fire Captain William Groneman was off duty on the morning of September 11, 23001.  He rushed to hos fore company, Engine 308, as soon as he heard of the attack on America.  He witnessed the changing of the world, the worst day in New York City history and oof the FDNY form the perspective of a firefighter, a native New Yorker, historian and writer.  His book "September 11: A Memoir"  tells his story.
