ClassGraphic The Star of Bethlehem is a well-known star that appears in the nativity story of the Gospel of Matthew, where "Magi" (wise men from the East) are inspired by the star to travel to Jerusalem.  It has been the inspiration of countless works of art through the centuries, and astronomers often attempt to link the star to celestial events.  In this presentation, Kim Arvidsson will explore the Christmas Star as an astronomer, and lead the participants on a fascinating journey through astronomical, astrological, and historical interpretations of the Star of Bethlehem story.
