The Importance of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift

ID : 49043
« back to classes page
The igneous and metamorphic rocks of the Llano Uplift are among the oldest rocks in Texas. Some of these rocks protrude through the Edwards Plateau to form Enchanted Rock and Granite Mountain. The plateau also contains many important features such as the Edwards Aquifer. By understanding how the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift features were formed over time, we can develop a richer understanding of the importance of the Hill Country.
