Online scams are a 17 billion dollar business, and people are more concerned than ever about privacy and security when using their phones and computers. The Chrome and Safari Browsers allow us to change basic settings to protect our privacy, as do our  iPhone and Android phones and tablets but what are the actual steps we can perform to reduce the chances of our personal information going to advertisers, apps, and scam artists? In this hands-on class, we will take out our devices and learn how we can change our settings. We will also learn how to prevent new technologies like Bluetooth beacons from giving our location information to third parties and how to identify and recognize online scams. In addition we will discover little-known life-saving tricks we can set-up and use our phones, such as Emergency SOS, how to find our lost devices, how to share our location with family, and how to find our parked car and get walking directions!
