Guich Koock shares the story of the early development of the magical place "where everybody is somebody" named Luckenbach, Texas. The story includes an interesting history of central Texas and a variety of intriguing characters (including J. Frank Dobie, Cactus Pryor and Hondo Crouch) that Guich met along the way. Plus discover how science proved that Luckenbach is the actual "center of the world".

Guich purchased the town of Luckenbach along with friend Russell "Hondo" Crouch. Together they organized the great Luckenbach World's Fair and developed the tiny town into a famous tourist attraction renowned for being a place to get back to the basics of life. Along the way, Guich was spotted by casting director who cast him in young director Steven Spielberg's first movie in 1974, "The Sugarland Express". Over two decades, Guich made a career of playing good ol boys in films and TV shows, perfecting it in the 1980s sitcom, "Carter Country". All while he remained true to his Texas roots. Where did Guich Koock get his unique name? His answer, "Daddy raised dogs and he gave all the good names to the dogs."
