How TV Imagines Texas: Building Your Media Literacy

Learn how to read images on screen and rapidly see the ideas behind them. You will learn about semiotics, and how images have many levels and meanings. The Class will watch an episode of King of the Hill and discuss what is communicated about Texas through this animated sitcom and what was left out. Utilizing Texas as the imaging theme, you will build your media literacy to better interpret the many meanings that onscreen images convey.
