The AARP Smart Driver Course, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation's largest classroom driver safety course and is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older.  You may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing the course, so consult your insurance agent for details. AARP membership is not required to take the course and there are no tests to pass.  Supply fee of $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members is payable to the instructor at the class.

Stone balancing is practiced by devotees as a form of meditation, relaxation, and creative expression.  Learn the various forms of rock-balancing from free-standing arches to single point balances, and the Japanese form of stone flowers.  These three forms will offer the beginner the basic fundamentals of stone-balancing from which you can advance to create natural art for both indoor and outdoor spaces.  All rocks will be supplied.  In class you will create your own Japanese stone flower to take home with you, and acquire a skill set you will polish for years to come.  Feel free to bring your favorite pet rocks for inspiration.  The skills involved - a combination of engineering and creative art, hone your mental skills, hand-eye coordination, focus, problem-solving perseverance and completion.   Great for kids!  Helps with concentration and calming - family fun!

Whether your old clock runs or not, this class will cover what you need to know about getting it running and keep it running.  You are encouraged to bring a clock to class for evaluation and basic lubrication.  Learn what you have, when and where it was made, how it should work, its market value and more.  You won't become expert clock smiths, but you will be better informed clock owners.  Class will cover the history of timekeeping, types of clocks, resources available, safety, basic operation, maintenance and repair, tools, lubricants and much more.  If there is interest, we will schedule a visit to a local clock shop.
