With open carry the Texas concealed handgun license is now a license to carry.  Join more that 800,000 Texans who have one.  This is the new Department of Public Safety certified course required to qualify for a new Texas LTC.  The one-session, 6-hour class will be taught in the Mildner Classroom at the Buck and Bull Club range and is limited to 12 students.  For more information, visit http://www.talonsite.com/ltc.htm.  NOTE:  The class fee does NOT cover the cost of the license.  Students need to bring a sack lunch, their handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and ear and eye protection.  The instructor does have guns you can borrow by prior arrangement.

This six-week class will help you learn how to communicate effectively with your dog, by teaching home manners (no jumping, nipping, mouthing or barking inappropriately) and basic obedience such as sit-stay and walking on the leash.  We will also discuss behavioral issues as needed.  Dog must be able to wear a collar, be able to be inside for class without pottying and not be overly aggressive.  Dogs must be 6 months or older and be current on vaccinations.  The first class is (overview) lecture, so there will be NO DOGS IN THE FIRST CLASS.

Stone balancing is practiced by devotees as a form of meditation, relaxation, and creative expression.  Learn the various forms of rock-balancing from free-standing arches to single point balances, and the Japanese form of stone flowers.  These three forms will offer the beginner the basic fundamentals of stone-balancing from which you can advance to create natural art for both indoor and outdoor spaces.  All rocks will be supplied.  In class you will create your own Japanese stone flower to take home with you, and acquire a skill set you will polish for years to come.  Feel free to bring your favorite pet rocks for inspiration.  The skills involved - a combination of engineering and creative art, hone your mental skills, hand-eye coordination, focus, problem-solving perseverance and completion.   Great for kids!  Helps with concentrationand calming - family fun!

This course begins with a discussion of the art of bonsai covering the history of bonsai, it's progression to today, and techniques and tools used to create bonsai.  Following the discussion, each participant creates a bonsai from preselected trees by pruning, shaping and transplanting a tree.  Participants will walk away with an understanding of the art of bonsai, a bonsai in a decorative pot, a bonsai tool to maintain the tree, and instructions to maintain the tree.
